Jinidex entry

In the traditional eastern calendar, Wu embodies the steed covered in fire, while Bing symbolizes the force of Yang. Their meeting gives rise to Hong, a species said to descend from the burning clouds in the East. The flame mark upon its brow shines like the rising sun, its mane trailing like celestial streamers. In eastern lands, Rocos hang lanterns adorned with such a Hong motif during the Spring Festival, for the shifting glow looks like a young steed streaking past when the wind sets them swaying – an auspicious start to a year of prosperity.
